South King County Community Impact Fund

2025 RFP application is open from March 3 - April 10
The Port is accepting applications for the 2025 South King County Community Impact Fund (SKCCIF) Economic Opportunities for Communities (EOC) Program. The EOC Program connects historically underrepresented communities to opportunities for living wage jobs and careers, creating access for the next generation of professionals to enter the port-related industries of aviation, construction trades, green jobs, and maritime. The RFP is Procurement # 00322251. See Funding Opportunities and Funding FAQ for additional details.

South King County Community Impact Fund

In 2019, the South King County Community Impact Fund (SKCCIF) was created to provide resources and support to historically underserved, ethnically, and culturally diverse communities near the airport. From 2020 to 2024, the SKCCIF funded four cycles of the Economic Recovery (now Economic Opportunities for Communities) and Environmental Grants (now Environmental Improvements) programs. These programs supported community-led projects that create pathways to training and family-wage careers in port-related industries (aviation, maritime, construction trades, and green jobs) and environmental improvements of public spaces. Since the fund’s inception, more than 50 organizations have received a total of $9.25 million, funding over 80 projects.

In 2024, the Port of Seattle Commission reauthorized $14 million to continue SKCCIF community-led projects that advance equity through the environmental improvement of public spaces, access to jobs and careers in Port-related industries, and training to women, minority business enterprises (WMBE) and small businesses. The SKCCIF has strengthened the Port’s relationships with key community members and organizations serving those communities.  The 2025-2029 funding cycles also include:

  • Expanding the geographic region to include areas of South King County that the Port of Seattle’s Equity Index identifies as having disparities
  • Continuing to prioritize our commitment to the six near-airport cities and identifying how applications for projects in those cities will receive priority status
