There’s a new face at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to make your travels even more otterly amazing! Meet Jett the SEA Otter— SEA’s official mascot and your go-to buddy for smiles, high-fives, and a little airport adventure. Wearing a green scarf, aviator goggles, and endless enthusiasm, Jett is ready to explore, play, and help make your day a little brighter.
But who is Jett? Where did Jett come from? What’s Jett’s favorite airport snack? We sat down with SEA’s newest (and furriest) team member to get the inside scoop! Let’s dive in!
1. Hi Jett! We’re so excited to introduce you to everyone. Can you tell us where you come from and how you ended up joining us?
Hiiiiiiiii! I’m Jett! I’m an otter and I came from the sea. And now I’m at SEA … Airport. I love a new adventure and making people happy. I'm here to make people smile, help them relax, and get them excited and ready for their trip!
2. What makes you a great mascot?
Welllll I’m super good at smiling, waving, and saying ‘hi’! And I’m reallllllllyyyy soft for big hugs. I love helping people. It’s the best thing ever to help someone have a better day! And I love exploring and watching airplanes on the ground and in the air. And oh boy, do I love airplanes! Big ones, little ones, zooming through the sky or rolling down the runway ─ I could watch them all day!
3. What’s something quirky or unexpected about you?
I may be a sea otter, but I just know I was meant to be a pilot! It’s the paws ... So instead, I spend my time watching planes, helping travelers, and dreaming of my very own-otter-sized jet.
4. What are you most excited about in your new role?
I can’t wait to meet all the people and give lots of high-fives! And I wanna see all the cool stuff at SEA and dance to music and eat some snacks.
5. What do you do when you’re not hanging out at the airport?
When I’m not watching airplanes and exploring SEA, you’ll find me swimming! In the sea! I float on my back and play with my otter friends. We chase each other, splash around, or take naps in the sun. It’s the best! Or, you might see me hanging out with my friend Ollie the Port orca at different events around the community.
6. What is your favorite thing about SEA?
Ohhhhh, my favorite thing about SEA? That’s easy — it’s the people! Everyone’s so nice and excited to go on adventures. I love waving, giving high-fives, and seeing all the happy faces. Oh, oh! And the airplanes! They’re so big and zoomy, and I could watch them all day long. SEA is the best playground ever with so many fun places and cool things to see. It makes me feel super otterly happy to be here!
7. What’s your favorite travel tip?
Find the fun at SEA! There is soooo much to do just for kids (or kids at heart)! Before you take off, shake out those wiggles in the Children's Play Area! Also, stories make time fly! Did you know SEA has two spots where you can pick out a book to read for free?! Or ask for one of our friends in green for an activity book or download the Agents of Discovery app for even more fun!
8. What’s your favorite airport snack?
I love yummy food! There’s always something new to try at the airport. I’m an otter, so fish is my favorite! But also cookies … oh wait. I think I smell something tasty over there! Do you wanna come check it out?!
9. What's your favorite SEA destination?
Anywhere with water! In the winter somewhere with warm water and sandy beaches is nice, but snowy places are cool too — snow is just water that’s cold! Everywhere is fun when you get to go on an airplane! And you get to hang out at SEA too which is obviously the best!
