Arif Ghouse

Interim Managing Director, Aviation Division | Leadership Team

Arif Ghouse has served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) since February 2023.  

Launched commercial service at Paine Field

Ghouse joined SEA after eight successful years as the Airport Director of Seattle Paine Field International Airport (PAE).  While overseeing general aviation and managing services for aviation enterprises including Boeing, Ghouse led the launch of commercial passenger service at PAE in 2019. Ghouse has strong leadership experience working closely with airline carriers and navigating unique operational challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At PAE, Ghouse also implemented a new all-cargo air carrier service, and introduced Airport Rules and Regulations, an Airport Management System, an Asset Management System, and a Geographic Information System. Ghouse led the work on the first updates to the PAE Airport Master Plan since 2003.

Past history at the Port of Seattle

Ghouse worked at SEA Airport and the Port from 2000 – 2014. His previous roles included leading airport security, serving as the director of seaport security/emergency preparedness, and a short-term assignment as an airport duty manager. Ghouse gained mega hub airport experience over six years in security and operations at the Houston Airport System. He also brings an international perspective with experience working at a seven-airport system, including London’s three international airports. 

Ghouse is active in key aviation organizations in the following roles: 

  • Current appointee to the Washington State Commercial Aviation Work Group
  • Elected Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society
  • Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives
  • Past member of the Board of Directors and U.S. Policy Council of Airports Council International, North America (ACI-NA)
  • Past President of the Washington Airports Management Association

  • Master of Science in Airport Transport Management, College of Aeronautics at Cranfield Institute of Technology, England, UK
  • Bachelor of Arts with honors in Business Administration, University of Westminster, London, England
