We want to hear from you! The draft National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Environmental Assessment (EA) for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s (SEA) Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) will be available for review starting October 21, 2024. The public is invited to visit the SAMP website to learn more and participate in this important process.
The EA for the SAMP Near-Term Projects (NTPs) is a crucial step under the NEPA. This process ensures that federal agencies assess the environmental impacts of proposed actions and provide opportunities for public input.
The Puget Sound region is projected to grow by another one million people by 2035. To accommodate this growth and align with the Port’s sustainability goals, the SAMP serves as SEA’s strategic blueprint for future development. This plan includes 31 NTPs, including a second terminal, an elevated busway, and new cargo facilities.
We encourage you to visit the SAMP website to explore details about the SAMP, the proposed NTPs, and the NEPA process. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we welcome your comments during the public comment period, which will be open from October 21, 2024, through December 5, 2024. Official comments can be submitted in person at one of the public meetings, by email, by mail, or on the SAMP website once the public comment period opens on October 21.
