TSA Checkpoint Construction Projects
We’re upgrading SEA and the TSA Checkpoints. The long-term renovation of the main terminal will continue to improve the facility to the with a variety of projects in the future:
- Security Screening Checkpoint 6 is temporarily unavailable and under construction to be redesigned to add space and security screening capacity to significantly improve passenger processing with the SEA Gateway project.
- Checkpoint 1 is Relocating to the south on the bag claim level. This project will create new queuing, travel document verification, and add additional security screening lanes
Types of Security Screening
Travelers can access all gates from any checkpoint. There are four checkpoints available at SEA Airport featuring general, premium, CLEAR, SEA Spot Saver, TSA PreCheck, and ADA-friendly screening. All checkpoints are ADA accessible for additional assistance please contact TSA Cares 72 hours prior to your flight.
TSA Checkpoint Hours of Operations
All TSA Checkpoint hours and screening types are approximate and subject to change on operational need, please see the in-terminal digital signage for available checkpoints and screening types. All checkpoints are open daily, operational hours are subject to change based on TSA operations with closure times evaluated daily. Checkpoint staff will help guide you to the best checkpoint.

All Security Checkpoints were Renumbered
All of the security checkpoints were renumbered (from 1-5, to 1-6) overnight Wednesday, April 16, 2025. All new checkpoint numbers went into use at 4 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025. This change was made to accommodate for a brand-new Checkpoint 1 opening up on the Baggage Claim Level.
